C&C celebrates Ashes winning captain

Stockport’s C&C Insurance Brokers celebrated the career of cricketing legend, David Gower OBE at Emirates Old Trafford as part of the firm’s ongoing sponsorship of Lancashire Cricket.

David is one of England cricket’s finest captains and players and arguably one of the most stylish left-handed batsmen of this era. He played 117 Test matches and 114 One Day Internationals (ODI) scoring 8,231 and 3,170 runs respectively’ and was one of the most capped and high-scoring players for England during his period. Following his retirement, he went on to become a successful and admired presenter and commentator.

David shared stories and yarns, whether from behind the bat or in front of the microphone, as well as taking questions from the floor. There were 80 guests and this was a rare opportunity to meet one of the greats of World cricket, up close and personal.

C&C MD, Malcolm Cooke (pictured) was also presented with a framed and signed Keaton Jennings shirt, as recognition for being a long-running club sponsor.
