C&C appoints Jody Wilson to lead Newcastle debut

C&C Insurance Brokers has announced the appointment of Jody Wilson, who will, for the first time for the firm, offer a permanent local presence for clients in Newcastle and the Northeast region.

As a local and an Account Executive with considerable sales and development experience, most recently from the Jensten Group, Jody is ideally placed to promote the C&C name across the region.

With over 25 years’ experience in the sector and having worked as a broker, an insurer and a client, it’s safe to say that Jody knows her way around the industry. And once she’d set her mind on seeking new pastures, unsurprisingly, she very quickly found herself with eight interviews lined up, the first being with Tom O’Connell at C&C Leeds. The remaining seven interviews didn’t even take place.

From Tom’s perspective, he saw a great opportunity to combine Jody’s wealth of experience and knowledge with C&C’s reputation and resources to establish a presence in the Newcastle and wider northeast region. Jody says that C&C felt like a breath of fresh air, with so much enthusiasm, resource and team support available to help her create her own book, she knew that she’d found her new home. She said:

“Something just clicked. It’s weird when you’re expecting a bit of a slog – having to go through a load of interviews and then you find what you’re looking for in the first one! I can see from everyone I’ve met at C&C that we share the same values, and just want to get the best outcome for clients.”

With covenants still in place, it’s almost a standing start for Jody but she’s relishing the challenge, adding:

“I’m not one for blowing my own trumpet, but with over 25 years in the business, I know a lot of clients, from a lot of places, across a lot of sectors. I’m already busy on my pipeline – watch this space!”

Jody will operate out of C&C Leeds as part of Tom’s team, but with the longer-term brief of eventually growing her own region.
