Last week, Rachel Wallace, who leads We are Stockport, threw out the challenge to anyone who fancied talking to camera about their community project or local area…whatever it is they do that helps make Stockport a great place to live, work and play !
The challenge is on – thanks to Viaduct Video, We are Stockport is capturing on camera the people and places that make up our wonderful borough.
Joe Barratt who helps run Stockport’s independent arts centre, Seven Miles Out, was the first to take the baton!
Joe talks about how Seven Miles Out started out as an idea that snowballed into the creation of a highly successful creative social space in Stockport …that not only brings together the local community but attracts the attention of famous figures like Film Director, Carol Morley and actress Maxine Peake!
Then Esther Morrison came forward to tell the story of new business and coffee hub. Esther, the pioneer behind Foodie Friday in Stockport, recently opened 7 Park Street to provide a space where people can work, meet and share best practice as well as skills. So what’s the story behind 7 Park Street? …..Hear it from the lady herself.
We are Stockport is here to celebrate what a great place to live, work and visit Stockport is….and the content of the new publishing site very much depends on the stories we are told!
Make the most of this chance to feature on film with We are Stockport! Could this be you! Get in touch with Rachel if you feel up to taking on the challenge to promote your community news on camera…there are no edits, first take is the last take….step forward! You may also know a community group or influential people in your district centre who can step infront of the lens !
