Romiley based C&C Insurance Brokers have recently renovated an unoccupied building at 66 Compstall Road, Romiley, turning it into an inviting and modern office. As a fitting tribute they have named the building ‘Halfpenny House’ in memory of a member of staff, Paul Halfpenny, who recently lost his 4 year battle with a brain tumour.
‘Halfpenny House’(pictured above) now houses the Personal Lines Department, where Paul first started his career with C&C Insurance Brokers.
Managing Director Malcolm Cooke explained,
“Since Paul started his career within the Personal Lines Department, it seems fitting that the building bears his name.
“From the very start Paul proved to be extremely considerate, helpful and courteous and was very well liked by all his colleagues. He was truly a remarkable ambassador for the business and over the years his infectious personality helped to turn many a client into a personal friend.
“As an integral part of C&C, he was in fact the longest serving male employee to date, Paul was instrumental in laying the foundations of the culture of the business and for this, I will be eternally grateful.”
Encouraged and superbly led by Paul, staff at C&C Insurance Brokers began fundraising for Brain Tumour Research and have so far raised over £2,000 by joining in the annual Brain Tumour ‘Wear a Hat Day’ and attending several sponsored spinning events.
C&C will continue to help raise the much needed funds for Brain Tumour Research, a cancer which few realise kills more people under the age of 40 than any other and one which was responsible for the untimely death of their close friend.
There are many ways in which you can raise funds for this much needed research, please visit www.braintumourresearch.org for more information.
