A claims specialist at Stockport based C&C Insurance Brokers has been given special recognition by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
Denis Cleary, a Claims Specialist in Marine and Transit Insurance for C&C’s Claims Department, has been awarded a certificate by the Chartered Insurance Institute in respect of 50 years membership.
The certificate came as a complete surprise to Denis who was unaware that the CII issued these certificates as it arrived out of the blue.
Denis (left) commented:
“I joined the Marine Department of the Yorkshire Insurance Company in Manchester on October 7th 1963 and looking at the certificate it seems I joined the CII on 24th of that month.
“I have always specialised in Marine and Transit insurance and after the ‘Yorkshire’ was acquired by General Accident I worked for that organisation for over 35 years all around the UK and finally as Marine Manager UK in 1987.
“I became Cargo Manager for Asia in 1995 and from my base in Hong Kong managed teams in 7 other Asian countries.”
Denis took early retirement in 1999 and crossed the great divide into brokerage and in 2005 he joined C&C where he has been specialising in the company’s marine and transit claims.

As a Life Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and an Ex-Chairman and Honorary Life Member of the Manchester Marine Insurance Association, he is a most valued member of C&C’s team.
