Marketing Stockport is looking to its members to raise £20,000 for our four charities.
We want four companies to step forward and raise £5,000 each over the next 12 months for Beechwood Cancer Care Centre, Seashell Trust, the Together Trust and NK Theatre Arts.
Money can be raised in many ways and we will follow the fundraising journeys on the Marketing Stockport newsfeed.

Here is a brief summary of the four charities:
Beechwood Cancer Care Centre
Angela Gray, fundraising manager: “We need £3,000 a day just to keep Beechwood running.
“Beechwood Cancer Care Centre is here to support people from across Stockport with every aspect of their cancer journey, to help with the shock of diagnosis, not just for the person with cancer and other life-limiting illness but for all the family.
“We are here to help by offering one-to-one counselling, complementary therapies and support groups, free of charge at point of need.
“Beechwood is also here to help carers cope with the stress and upset of caring for a loved one with cancer or life-limiting illness, to help children come to terms with the illness and loss of a parent or family member and for when people are ready to move on when they are well and ready to return to work.
“We need your help and donations to continue our work.”
NK Theatre Arts
Company manager Darren Stannage: “NK Theatre Arts is a Registered Charity which works with children, young people and adults of all abilities and disabilities and from any status or culture and uses Performing Arts as a vehicle to develop their confidence, learn empathy for others and maximise their full potential.
“Based at The Forum Theatre in Romiley, the company also delivers key issue based projects and performances to local schools and community groups tackling subjects pertinent to young people today.
“This includes online safety, stranger danger, domestic violence and many more. Throughout the year, NK will work with hundreds of young people from Stockport.
“Partnering up with local businesses who understand the value of our work and want to help us grow and develop as a charity is a fantastic opportunity.
“We receive no regular funding and any contributions from businesses will help provide us with stability and the chance to develop and expand our work we do with young people from Stockport who depend on us to provide a safe and stimulating environment for them to grow.”
Seashell Trust
Wendy Bray, corporate and individual giving fundraiser, said: “Seashell provides education and 52-week residential care for children and young people aged 2 to 25 with profound disabilities.
“Our children and young people have some of the most complex needs and disabilities including deafness, blindness and autism, combined with physical disabilities and profound learning difficulties. All have some brain damage and little or no ability to communicate.
“We also offer short break (respite) provision for young people whose families are at the point of breakdown.\:
“In addition, our award-winning Children’s Able and Disabled Sports (CADS) programme provides inclusive sporting opportunities for over 500 local youngsters.
“As well as empowering our children and young people, we work with families to build the confidence needed to bring up a severely disabled child.
“We are really proud to be members of Marketing Stockport as we work towards becoming a national centre of excellence in our field, based here in Stockport.
“We are very lucky to have had the support of some fabulous organisations in Stockport on a variety of projects and partnerships and are very much looking forward to developing that further through Marketing Stockport.”
Together Trust
Jennifer Sweeney, senior fundraiser: “The Together Trust provides residential care, community support, fostering and special education to 2,300 young people and families in the north west each year.
“Supporting people with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and complex needs, the charity believes that everyone deserves an equal chance in life.
“Together Trust’s Ashcroft School which supports students with emotional and learning difficulties is looking for funding to support their Duke of Edinburgh Award pursuits.
“Projects like this can help students gain the skills and confidence to go on to study in mainstream schools, colleges and further education.
“These extra-curricular activities give these young people a valuable opportunity to learn life skills outside the classroom.”
