Despite opening 8 months ago during difficult trading conditions and at a time that many would have considered a risky investment, The Bramhall Bakery is enjoying good trading times as sales rise with a growing and loyal customer base. One of the key aspects is being innovative and providing something new on the high street.
Joanne Peters, Director of the bakery explained:
“We have contributed to the local economy with 9 employees, including a full time baker and full time apprentice baker and we are now recruiting for a second apprentice. Not only are we creating employment but also building an artisan skill base.
“The local community in Bramhall and beyond has shown us fantastic support and appreciation. Our customer base is spreading with many customers coming to our store from other places around the local area.
“Being part of the community was important to us and we now present about bread to several community groups and we also support local charities, including Wellspring, with regular bread donations”.
The bakery is launcing a Wednesday Bread Club in the coming weeks, an innovative service for busy people to order bread on line and pop in to collect it on Wednesday evenings after work and other commitments.
