The Valuation Office Agency is encouraging businesses to register online to ensure information about their property is up to date.
The Valuation Office Agency provides the government the valuations and property advice needed to support taxes such as council tax and business rates.
The organisation is inviting businesses to ensure they are registered via the government website for a business rates valuation account, which will enable them to manage information about their properties online.
Through the account, businesses will able to:
- See how their rateable value has been calculated
- Report?changes that might affect their property’s rateable value
- Challenge their property’s rateable value
- Appoint an agent to deal with the?agency?for them
The Valuation Office Agency is currently running a social media campaign to raise awareness of registering for an online business rates valuation account throughout November. The campaign hopes to ensure more businesses register to manage their business rates valuations online, and ensure queries are rightly directed at the Valuation Office Agency, rather than to the local authorities who collect rates.
Businesses can register for a business rates valuation account via the government website here.
