More than 27,000 business mentors ready to support SMEs
An additional 15,000 people have been trained to act as mentors to support businesses looking to grow, taking the total number of mentors available to 27,000.
The volunteer mentors have been recruited and trained over the past 16 months as part of the £1.9 million Government-funded Get Mentoring project, which is delivered by the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative (SFEDI).
Business minister Michael Fallon said that the Government has invested in mentors as they can provide the practical advice and support that entrepreneurs need in order to their business ideas to the next level.
“The mentors have been there and done it and can pass that experience on. I want to encourage people to come forward and take advantage of the mentoring network,” he added.
Marketing Stockport is also looking to identify mentors from the local business community to help assist and advise companies in need of ideas and business inspiration.
