Stockport Business & Innovation Centre manager John Booth has proved he’s an ace golfer.
The 16-handicapper has enjoyed his second hole-in-one at his home course, Reddish Vale.
His latest ace came at the rebuilt fourth hole during the club’s Cloughy Charity Day.
John, who has been a member at Reddish Vale for almost 25 years, said: “The fourth is about 158 yards and I hit a six iron to the green, with the ball rolling about 15 feet before disappearing into the hole.
“It was a shot of great skill and quality, even though I say so myself!
“It was a team event, so I had to share the £80 prize with my three playing partners and I also had to buy a bottle of whisky in the clubhouse, so I just about broke even.”
John has also had a hole-in-one at the club’s ninth hole.
He added: “I’ve played golf for 25 years and estimate I’ve played around 15,000 par threes, so I average an ‘ace’ about every 7,500 attempts – longer odds than Leicester were to win the Premier League!”
Reddish Vale pro Andy Myers says there have been a few holes-in-one this year at the fourth, which has a new tee and greenside bunker.
