This week, MAN Diesel & Turbo (MDT-UK) welcomed the newly appointed British Ambassador to Germany, Sir Sebastian Wood (KCMG), to MDT-UK’s Headquarters in Hazel Grove.
The former Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China was visiting the north west as part of his pre-post briefing and was welcomed to Stockport by Mr Wayne Jones, MDT’s Senior Vice President, Business Unit After Sales.
Sir Sebastian was very keen to learn about MDT’s role in the UK and the world’s engine markets and as part of the Volkswagen Group, was also interested in its overall positioning within one of the UK’s largest German-owned employers.

Mr Jones commented: “It was a great pleasure to meet with Sir Sebastian who I am sure will be an influential figure in UK/German relations.” Mr Jones plans to invite the Ambassador to visit MDT’s global Headquarters in Augsburg, near Munich, later in the year.
