Accountants Bennett Verby has launched an international division to help the growing number of clients looking to tap into new markets abroad.
Stockport-based Bennett Verby, which is currently helping around 50 North West companies with their international ambitions, decided to launch a specific division after demand for help and advice on expansion abroad had grown significantly.
Bennett Verby has also joined 2020 International – a network of global accountants who share knowledge and expertise. Bernard says membership of the network helps the firm ensure clients get the best local advice on taxes, customs and laws in foreign regions.
Managing partner Bernard Verby said the firm had been helping businesses expand internationally for 20 years but growing demand, particularly in the manufacturing sector, has prompted it to launch a specific division to focus on clients’ needs.
Bernard (pictured left) said:
“The region’s manufacturing industry is performing extremely well and the
UK is internationally renowned for its technical expertise and quality. Many
manufacturers are seeing demand for their products and machines
soaring across global markets.
“One of our clients recently received an order from the States that will
double turnover.”
The firm offers the complete range of advice to help companies achieve success on the global stage from raising funding and identify new markets to local tax advice.
Bernard said: “We have helped clients with both tax and commercial advice and also deciding which locations to be based. For example, if you want to expand in America you really need a permanent base over there with local employees.
“When preparing your business plan you need to know how local businesses work and what the costs are in those regions. In the States, for example, you have to pay for staff health insurance and this can be as much as the actual salary costs. Also each state has its own local taxes so it can be more efficient to operate in certain areas.”
Bernard added: “We offer a true commercial hand holding service so our clients don’t feel like they are going into the unknown alone.”
