The Bennett Verby 5-A-Side Team, once again proved that they are not only talented accountants and business advisors, but footballers too.
Adam Rhodes, Ryan Thomas, Ian Heyl, Lee Wilks, Rick Sutcliffe, Mel Esson and captain, Neil Jones played in the 20 Team inaugural Marketing Stockport 5-A –Side Business Cup on Tuesday 2nd July at the fantastic new sports facility, Stockport Sports Village in Woodley.
The team put in a first class performance and were runners up in the group stages. They made it to the semi-finals, where they dug deep and fought hard against a highly talented team representing Starkey Laboratories Ltd. Disappointingly a defeat ended their campaign to be the first winners of the cup and Trooper Beer.
Neil Jones, captain and senior manager at Bennett Verby said “It was a brilliant team effort and there were some great moments”.
