Stockport-based Belle Vue Manchester is to operate a new coach service between Manchester and Bristol as part of its ongoing partnership with FlixBus.
The new service seeks to rival rail connections, taking just three and a half hours, only 20 minutes more than the average train journey between the two cities.
The service will operate twice a day each way, daily, between Manchester Shudehill and Bristol city centre (Bond Street), and add Manchester Moss Lane to the FlixBus network for the first time. Beginning on 20th July, the service will start in time for travellers from the West Country to to enjoy Manchester’s epic summer of events, such as Manchester Day, on 27 July or Manchester Pride 23 – 26 August. Those journeying to Bristol will also find live music at Hospitality On The Harbour on 3 August, while the annual Bristol Balloon Fiesta will take place 9 – 11 August.
The new service builds on Belle Vue Manchester’s existing partnership with FlixBus, operating coach services between Manchester and Manchester Airport with cities across North and Midlands for the travel tech firm.
Belle Vue’s Managing Director Phil Hitchen (pictured), commented:
“This new exciting service from FlixBus brings great affordability, quality and service for anyone travelling Manchester to Bristol and return.”
The introduction of the Manchester to Bristol route follows the FlixBus’ recent launch of a fast service between London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK, added:
“With 70 destinations now on our UK network, this network expansion is all part of our mission to better connect towns and cities around the country without costing the earth, or people’s wallets.”
