Beechwood got a surprise Christmas gift from Adam Deering of Pride Planning Stockport who called in and made a donation of £6000 to the charity to provide new furnishings for their counselling and therapy rooms.
Pride Planning, who provide pre paid funeral plans, have been supporters of Beechwood for the past year after reading about the repeat break ins at their charity shops.
Pride Planning came to the rescue by funding security shutters at the Heald Green store to ensure that the property was secure.
Whilst visiting to make the donation Adam spotted a young girl in reception with a worry monster and, when he heard what the charity use them for, he was so overwhelmed he has also committed to sponsoring enough worry mobsters so that every child who attends Beechwood for counselling can have a monster of their own.
Angela Gray Fundraising manager said:
“We are totally delighted, it was just like Santa appearing, not only with a fantastic cheque but then to provide all our children with the worry monsters was just incredible. The idea of the monsters are that children put their worries inside before they go to bed and the monster eats them so they don’t have to worry. It is a great help for our children who have lost their mum or dad.”

“At this time of year we can all get wrapped up in the commercial side of Christmas but when you see the work Beechwood does with families who are going through really difficult times it puts things in perspective. We at pride planning just wanted to make it a bit easier for them.”
