The Apprenticeships Store in Stockport town centre is holding a series of drop-in sessions as part of the Get In – Go Far campaign.
The Get In – Go Far campaign encourages young people and their parents to look into apprenticeships and see whether the opportunities that these offer could be for them.
Apprenticeships offer young people the opportunity to take their first steps into their chosen career, gaining the experience, skills and knowledge they need to help them succeed in the future.
Opportunities on offer from employers from across 170 industries including IT, digital media, fitness instructor and civil engineering.
Stockport Council is supporting the campaign and urging young people who are thinking about the next step on their career journey to consider an apprenticeship and whether this could be for them.
Hundreds of young people from across Stockport have already benefited from doing just this and are now enjoying successful careers in their chosen field.
Councillor Dean Fitzpatrick, Executive Member for Education at Stockport Council said: “It is important to ensure that young people in Stockport get the support and advice they need as they start out on their career journeys.
“I would encourage anyone getting exam results or thinking about their future to consider an apprenticeship and look into the opportunities these could offer you.”
Stockport’s Apprenticeships Store offers advice to anyone looking into Apprenticeships as well as support in finding a suitable job.
They currently have access to over 800 vacancies, all within a 10 miles of Stockport, from accounting and animal care to warehousing and web development.
From August 15 to 26, the Apprenticeships Store is holding drop-in sessions at their offices in Stockport Exchange to learn more about apprenticeships and find out about jobs available.
