Applications for funding from the Vernon Building Society’s community Jubilee Fund close on 30th June 2013!
If you’re involved in a charity or community group based in the Stockport area there is still time to get your application in for the Vernon Building Society’s Jubilee Fund to be in with a chance of receiving a share of £10,000!! Groups will need to move quickly as there is less than a week to go, with applications for the fund closing on 30th June 2013.
The simple application form can be found at www.thevernon.co.uk/jubilee_fund or on the Stockport Express website.
All applications will be reviewed and a shortlist of 20 finalists will be selected by the Jubilee Fund panel.
These 20 finalists will then be featured in the Stockport Express along with tokens that can be cut out and used by members of the public to vote for their preferred cause.
Funding will be allocated to groups in proportion to the votes that they receive.
Mike Hanson, Chief Executive of the Vernon said:
“When we set up the Jubilee Fund last year, we were overwhelmed by the amount of good work that is going on in Stockport for all manner of different causes. This year, we’ve opened the voting to Stockport Express readers so that they have their say to support the causes that matter most to them in their local area. With less than a week to go groups will need to act quickly to be in with a chance of funding.”
The Jubilee Fund was launched in 2012 to support local causes and last year donated £10,000 to 16 charity and community groups in Stockport. More information about the fund, including details of last year’s winners can be found at www.thevernon.co.uk
