It is another successful year for pupils in Stockport following the publication of the 2015 GCSE results for all of the borough’s secondary schools.
The percentage of pupils gaining the headline figure of five or more passes at A*-C grade, including English and mathematics, is provisionally 60%. This is an increase on last year when 58.3% of pupils attained the equivalent measure.
Councillor Shan Alexander, Executive Member for Safe and Resilient Communities said:
“Given the further increased demands brought about by changes to the curriculum and examinations, Stockport pupils have done very well again this year and gained excellent GCSE results. I would like to congratulate all the young people on their hard work that produced such good results.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the extremely strong partnership of teachers, governors, parents and the Council which has contributed significantly to these successes in Stockport.”
