Air compressor specialists celebrate 40 years trading

Stockport based air compressor distributors, ACE Compressors, celebrated their 40th anniversary on 1st March.

The milestone anniversary for the firm marks 40 years since the business was formed in 1982, by three partners working out of a terraced house in Stockport. Two years later, the business moved into its first 1,500 square foot commercial premises and took on a fourth partner, now Managing Director, Martin Flynn.

The company expanded further in the years to come, moving into its current premises, a 3,500 square foot building on Sheffield Street, Stockport, in 1991 (pictured). The company also won the prestigious award for the Best Stand at the Stockport Trade Show, presented to them by the mayor. The business now employs over 70 staff, as it enters its ruby anniversary year.

As the company reaches its 40^th year of operation, the original founders have made the decision to retire, with Martin Flynn taking on the role of Managing Director. With a difficult year in 2020 due to the pandemic behind them, ACE Compressors is now busier than ever and continuing to develop. Martin Flynn said:

“At Ace Compressors, customer care is our priority and has been since we began back in the 80s. I have been with the company since 1984 and have watched it grow through hard work, dedication and customer satisfaction.

“We have such a great bunch of people that work for us who all have this ethos close to their hearts, and we work with some fantastic suppliers who put quality at the heart of everything they do.

“Many of the team have over 30 years’ experience in the industry and are considered experts in the field due to their knowledge and skillset.

“Through innovative product solutions, unrivalled servicing, repairs and installation facilities and an experienced team always at the end of the phone, we have a winning combination that customers love.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff, past and present, for their hard work and contribution towards building the company and making it what it is today. We would also like to express our gratitude to our customers for their ongoing support over the years.

“We look forward to a strong future and I’m excited to see what the next 40 years will bring.”

Associated Compressor Engineers (ACE) provide compressed air parts and equipment to a vast range of customers both commercial and private, as well as Blue Chip clients, including public health, the NHS and the police authorities.
