Stockport Council has released some aerial photos to show the progress being made on Aurora Stockport, the town’s newest industrial park.
Builder and developer Seddon is currently clearing the 18-acre development on behalf of the council as part of the £1 billion ‘Investing in Stockport’ programme taking place across the town.
The photos from the council show the land being cleared ready for the park near Junction 1 of the M60.
The council says Aurora Business Park in Stockport will breathe new life into an area that has been derelict for many years, redeveloping the area and creating new opportunities for local businesses and an estimated 240 jobs.
Comprising 10 industrial units ranging from 8,700 sq ft to 47,000 sq ft the park’s location and facilities make it ideal for any business looking to grow or for their next home.
Estimates predict that ‘Investing in Stockport’ will bring at least 5,000 new jobs and 1,100 new homes to Stockport.
Seddon is a family-owned and managed construction, maintenance and developments business with a track record spanning nearly 120 years and five generations of the Seddon family.
The firm has offices across the UK, including Bolton, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and North Wales.
Ed Wootton, North West Regional Director for Seddon, said “Stockport is in the midst of an exciting period of growth and Seddon are thrilled to be a part of it.
“We will be working closely with our local supply chain partners to create jobs and training opportunities during the project, building on our long established approach to employing apprentices.”
