Irish airline, Aer Lingus, has extended the flying season on one of its most popular transatlantic routes, from Manchester Airport to Barbados.
The extra flights come in response to increased customer demand, allowing holidaymakers in Northern England to enjoy the three-times weekly service to the Caribbean for an additional month.
Direct flights from the airline’s Manchester base have been extended from April to 31 May 2024, giving customers the chance to bathe in Barbadian sunshine this Spring.
Aer Lingus’ Manchester Airport to Barbados route was the carrier’s first direct transatlantic service to launch from the UK in 2021, and recently marked two years of flying direct to the Americas, with services to New York and Orlando running year-round. Passengers can also connect to a host of other destinations in the US via Dublin.
Alongside the extension of its Manchester to Barbados route, Aer Lingus has also announced it has extended its popular Dublin to Hartford route into the winter season. The state capital of Connecticut, Hartford is a major financial services hub, particularly for the insurance industry, and popular destinations for tourists looking to explore the New England countryside. The route launched in March 2023, and has been extended to continue three direct flights each week between 29 October 2023 and 5 January 2024 in response to high demand.
Passengers travelling to Hartford from the UK can take advantage of US Customs and Immigration pre-clearance at Dublin, allowing them to speed up their journey and arrive in the US as a domestic passenger.
