Nicola Trotter and Michael Doody’s group raised £1,300 for the Stockport Express Pitch In appeal.
Nicola, 26, who works for a travel company, said: “We wanted to support a local charity which would have an impact on our area. We are pleased the money is going to specific tangible project.”
They cycled the 180 miles from London to Paris in four days.
Nicola said: “We are quite experienced cyclists. The distance didn’t feel too bad, the difficulty was finding the way while avoiding main roads. It was a fairly flat and scenic route in the end.”
The challenge wasn’t just good news for the charity. Michael, 30, a PE teacher at St Anne’s RC High School, and Nicola got engaged while in France.
