A planning application has been submitted for a development of five new homes in Great Moor.
The scheme proposes building five detatched, four-bedroom houses on a triangular plot of land adjacent to sports facilities belonging to Aquinas College, and between Aldersgate Road and Corbar Road in Great Moor.
Because of the association with Aquinas College’s artificial grass pitch, Sports England must be consulted on the scheme as part of its commitment to protect open spaces used for physical activity from development. However, as the land is overgrown, it is not used as such, and planners expect there to be no complaints to its redevelopment.
The new properties will feature four double bedrooms, each with single or double garage, driveway and private gardens, accessed through bi-fold doors, and will be built in-keeping with other local residential properties in the area. New vehicular access will be constructed from Aldersgate Road, as well as a pedestrian link to Corbar Road that will connect with public transport on the A6 and reduce the need for residents to rely on their cars for travel.
Paul Carr Design Ltd is the architect on the scheme, with planning statement prepared by Alderley Edge based Walsingham Planning on behalf of developers, Corbar Limited.
