
Aviation services specialist Menzies Aviation has acquired Stockport based Aircraft De-icing specialist Aviation Services, expanding its service portfolio across UK airports.
Based at over 200 airport locations across 6 continents, Menzies offer land-side and airside services tailored to their customers’ needs including Ground Handling, Cargo Handling, Fuelling, Executive Services and Offline Services.
Established for more than 30 years, Airline Services provides De-icing and Aircraft Presentation services at 12 UK airports to over 60 airlines, together with Ground Handling operations at London Gatwick. The acquisition takes Menzies into 4 new airport locations.
Aviation Services operate over 70 De-icing rigs with over 300 experienced and regularly trained staff, providing De-icing cover and support for over 240 aircraft flying to and from the UK with typically more than 15,000 events in a winter season.

Combining Airline Services with its existing business strengthens Menzies’ existing market position, allowing the company to continue growing in the UK by expanding its service offering to new and existing customers at a wider range of locations.
As part of the deal, Menzies Aviation welcomes 900 new employees including Nigel Daniel, currently Managing Director of Airline Services, who will take up a leadership position on Menzies’ regional team.
