Martin Reid, joint managing director and owner at Stockport workplace supplies specialists Egan Reid, has been made a freeman of The Stationers’ Company.
Martin received the honour in a ceremony held at Stationers’ Hall in London.
Established in 1403, the Stationers’ Company is the City of London Livery Company for the Communications and Content industries. The Company’s mission is to be the most effective independent forum in the UK Communications and Content industries, actively contributing to the strategic development, success and education of these industries. The majority of the Company’s 900 or so members work in or supply the paper, print, publishing, packaging, of ce products, newspaper, broadcasting and online media industries.
Martin (pictured above) said:
“I am highly honoured to have been welcome within the ranks of such a prestigious organisation with over 600 years’ history.
“It is quite fitting that this has happened in Egan Reid’s 60th anniversary year. I look forward to taking part in Company events, sharing thoughts and experience with my fellow members.”
Egan Reid is one of the largest independent UK providers of office supplies and services to businesses and organisations ranging from small and medium sized businesses to blue-chip and public sector organisations.
Combining industry expertise, flexibility, buying power and a real passion for delivering practical solutions and market-leading innovation, Egan Reid recently acquired the stationery and furniture business of the Isle of Man’s Bridson & Horrox Group.
The deal saw the Stockport-based office supplies and furniture group further strengthen its foothold in the North of England.
The new addition to the Egan Reid fold is now trading under the BHX Stationery & Furniture brand, while Bridson & Horrox has retained ownership of its print and design, signage, business machines and promotional gifts divisions.
