Thomson and First Choice are offering summer sun-seekers flying out of Manchester more choice this summer.
The move to introduce new routes is part of the holiday company’s strategy to ensure customers across the UK can fly from their local airport and stay at the best hotels in some of the most exciting destinations.
The new routes go on sale today in line with the launch of summer 2017 holidays.
This includes two brand new destinations – Olbia, Italy and Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba – as well as new 10 and 11 night breaks to Malta and Sal, Cape Verde.
Those flying on flexible breaks to Sal, Cape Verde can visit the new for 2016 hotel – Thomson’s 5T Sensimar Cabo Verde – where they can walk out of the pool and straight onto the beach. The hotel’s three a la carte restaurants, two pools and private beach area make for the perfect adults only retreat.
Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for Thomson and First Choice, said: “We are excited to be launching the new summer 2016 route to Cayo Santa Maria exclusively from Manchester airport, which will open up our long haul destinations to even more of our customers. The addition of these new routes and durations will give customers in Manchester and the surrounding area more flexibility when deciding on their 2017 summer holiday.
“Expanding access to our portfolio of destinations and hotels is a key part of our overall strategy and will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”
Stephen Turner, Commercial Director for Manchester Airport, said “It’s fantastic to see Thomson increasing capacity at Manchester Airport for next summer and also adding two exciting new routes.
“The new route to Cayo Santa Maria is testament to the continuing demand for direct, long haul flights from the 22 million people in our catchment area. We’re very proud to have been chosen by Thomson as the exclusive UK airport for this destination.”
