Entries are now open for the 5th Stockport Business Awards 2016 and organisers Clarke Nicklin are looking to award 3 businesses with the prestigious ‘Business of the Year’ title.
The Business of the Year categories are split into three turnover sizes: £5m+, sponsored by Natwest; £1-5m, sponsored by Gorvins Solicitors and up to £1m sponsored by Orbit Developments. These three awards will be given to companies that demonstrate all round excellence in business; the judging will focus on the businesses historical performances as well as future objectives.
Last year’s Business of the year £5m+ title was awarded to Valour Finance Group, who judges found had developed a fantastic reputation whilst growing a successful business in a tough industry.
Pioneer Digital Solutions were winners of the £1-5m category with fantastic business performance making them stand out.
The up to £1m category was won by Trust, a design agency who are proud to say 100% of clients would recommend them, and judges felt it was easy to see why.
Andrew Baggott of Clarke Nicklin commented: “If you want to be up amongst these high-profile successful Stockport businesses then I encourage you take a look at all the categories and decide which is for you. You’ve got to enter to be in with a shot and the benefits reaped by winners and shortlisted businesses have been endless.”
Brian Bradley, partner at Clarke Nicklin and president of the Stockport area for Greater Manchester Chamber urged businesses to enter: “I’ve had clients take part in the process over the last 4 years and it’s been rewarding for them all.
“The actual process of sitting down to take a look at the areas you excel and then put an entry together is sometimes rewarding in itself – it gives you the opportunity to reflect on achievements and address areas that might not be up to scratch.”
Shortlisted companies can enjoy PR coverage right up until the awards and each category has its final 3 companies profiled.
Brian said: “Businesses that are successful tell us that the raised profile and ability to celebrate with staff on the night are two of the highlights winning brings.
“From my personal point of view I’m proud to be involved with the awards. Clarke Nicklin set the event up back in 2012 but it is a testament to all the businesses in Stockport that each year the quality and quantity of entries grows and the awards just keep getting bigger and better.”
Entry forms for the Stockport Business Awards can be downloaded online. Entries opened on 4th April and remain open until Friday 27th May.
