Deaf Aware Workshop with Lorri Wilson

Imagine greeting a Deaf customer or colleague with a simple hello, in BSL.  That small gesture can make someone feel welcome, included, and understood.

Venue@Cornerstone is hosting a Deaf Awareness workshop with Lorri Wilson on Friday, 21^st November 2025, 9.30am – 2.00pm.  This engaging session will give you and your team the skills and confidence to communicate more effectively with Deaf and hard of hearing people, whether in customer facing roles, education, healthcare, or community services.

What to expect:

• A fun, interactive session with practical guidance and activities
• Learn and practice key British Sign Language (BSL) signs
• Gain insights into Deaf awareness and everyday inclusion
• Refreshments and a light lunch provided

Who Should Attend:

Ideal for professionals and organisations including:

• Schools and educational staff
• Local councils, libraries, courts, and public services
• Retail, construction, transport, and banking sectors
• Healthcare providers (NHS, Bupa, hospitals, doctors, nurses)
• Sports organisations
• Emergency services: police, ambulance, fire brigade

Cost:  £30 per person (excluding VAT)
