Community groups and residents are being urged to submit bids for funding as part of the ‘You Say, We Pay’ scheme run by Stockport Council.
‘You Say, We Pay’ funding has come from Central Neighbourhood Management Board and Community First and is delivered by Stockport Council’s Central Neighbourhood Management Board which includes the Police and its partners.
Councillor Mark Weldon, Deputy Leader from Stockport Council and Executive Member for Corporate, Customer and Community Services, said:
“‘You Say, We Pay’ is a community grants programme that provides the opportunity for groups to apply for funding made available through partner contributions, to deliver projects that will improve their area and benefit residents of the Central area of Stockport. The decision on who receives the funding is down to local residents.”
Over the past few years, ‘You Say, We Pay’ has made £30,000 available to fund projects in the Central area – Lancashire Hill, Heaton Norris, Town Centre (Hillgate, Peak Street, Mottram Estate areas) and Edgeley (York Street and Hollywood Park areas) – that have improved the lives of hundreds of local residents. Applications can be submitted by a community group or group of residents for projects ranging from £500 to £3,000.
Application forms can be collected from Belmont & Lancashire Hill Children’s Centre, Stockport Central Children’s Centre, York Street Community Centre, Heaton Norris Pavilion and Heaton Norris Salvation Army and must be submitted by Friday 11th October 2013.
