Local shoppers were out in force today when the new Wilko Stockport opened its doors at The Peel Centre in Stockport town centre.
Queues outside the new store started forming at 7.30am with more than 100 shoppers keen to get a first look at the new Wilko store.
The first 100 customers received a £20 gift card, while shoppers on the day enjoyed being entertained by a jazz band.
A ceremonial ribbon cutting was led by the Mayor of Stockport, Councilor Linda Holt, alongside Penny Hamer, a representative from Alzheimer’s Society, and Wilko Supply Chain Director Mark Hale. While branch manager Mandy Wassall-Billu presented the charity with a cheque for £500.
This week, Wilko will also be hosting additional entertainment including a balloon modeller in store on Thursday 26th October and Friday 27th October. In addition, there will also be complimentary Halloween confectionary for shoppers on Saturday 28 October and Sunday 29 October.
