Stockport engineering company, WFEL, is bringing forward plans to expand its factory facility at Heaton Chapel.
The world leader in tactical military bridges applied to Stockport Council earlier this month – WFEL Expansion Plans – for a 65,000 sq ft scheme, as reported on Insider Northwest .
William Fairey Engineering (WFEL) is behind the application, which concerns a plot on Sir Richard Fairey Road.
The company are planning to demolish parts of some existing buildings, relocating another and constructing new units.
The company has been appointed to manufacture and assemble a vehicle for the UK Ministry of Defence at the Stockport site, with production requiring the additional floorspace.
If approved, the plans would lead to the creation of 50 jobs.
Approval has been recommended, when Stockport Council’s planning committee meeting on 1 August.
