Virgin Trains extend ‘Red Track’ scheme
Calling all students, Virgin Trains have announced an extension to the Virgin Red Track Programme, which offers undergraduates the chance to gain a BA (Hons) Business Management degree whilst having their university fees paid by Virgin Trains.
The Red Track Programme is a result of a unique partnership between the rail network operator and Manchester Metropolitan University, with 12 places currently on offer.
“Too many graduates face poor job opportunities and are laden with debt when they graduate. We want to offer an amazing opportunity to the bright, talented entrepreneurs of the future who might be put off studying for a degree by the cost,” explained Virgin Trains Chief Executive Officer, Tony Collins.
“We are delighted to be working with Manchester Metropolitan University in Cheshire as our partner. Virgin Trains will pay the university fees as well as a salary to the applicants. This is a great example of partnership between education and the business world, and for Virgin Trains it makes great economic sense as we are investing in 12 future leaders of the business.”
Virgin Trains are not the only company within the Virgin Group who are currently offering students a helping hand, with Galactic Unite last week unveiling a new programme to help Physics students complete their degrees.
