Stockport GP federation, Viaduct Care CIC, has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following the organisation’s first inspection in December.
The CQC visited Viaduct Care on 15th December 2019, and have now published their report on the inspection. The CQC praised the organisation for the quality of service to patients and the team’s shared purpose and motivation to succeed. The report also highlighted the collaborative work ethic of staff, and motivational leadership.
Working closely with local GP practices and Stockport Foundation Trust, Viaduct Care provides health and wellbeing services to help remove pressure on the NHS in Stockport. Viaduct Care has supported over 60,000 patients in the last year with GP home visits, evening and weekend testing, and wellbeing and self-care support.
Dr Jaweeda Idoo, GP and Chair Viaduct Care CIC said:
I would like to congratulate and thank everyone involved for helping us to achieve this CQC rating during a very busy and challenging year for the organisation as we quickly ramped up our service offer and established the organisation.
“Our colleagues, partners and member practices have worked tirelessly – often under acute pressure and increasing demand – to ensure the population of Stockport receive high quality healthcare services. I’d like to thank our member practices for supporting us in meeting CQC requirements, I know how busy you all are and value your continued support.
“I am very proud of the work that has been done to improve the health and wellbeing for local people, and that the quality of this work has now been recognised.”
GP Liz Elliott, Chief Executive of Viaduct Care added:
Here at Viaduct Care we are absolutely thrilled with our CQC inspection report in which we were rated “Good” in all areas on our first inspection. This achievement is due to our committed and caring colleagues who work incredibly hard to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for patients and the public across the borough
“This rating reflects the hard work and commitment that our staff continually put in to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for patients and the public across the borough.
“It also is evidence on how we are building on the strength of primary care and the high standards that are delivered locally across our GP Practices and beyond.”
Viaduct Care is a ‘Not for Profit’ GP Federation, owned by 37 GP practices across Stockport. The CQC is an independent regulator and its role is to register and inspect health and adult social care service.
