Vernon Building Society’s £10,000 Jubilee Fund was awarded to 20 successful local charity and community groups at a recent presentation evening.
The groups were awarded funding from the Society’s Jubilee Fund to enable them to continue their work in the local area with Stockport Express readers voting to determine each group’s share of the £10,000 fund.

Staff from Vernon Building Society also voted to award an additional £500 of funding to Millie’s Trust, based in Cheadle Hulme, which provides low cost first aid training to parents and nursery staff.
The Vernon’s Chief Executive, Mike Hanson, said:
“Our Jubilee Fund has again highlighted the good work going on in Stockport. It’s great that these groups are receiving the recognition that they deserve as well as funding. We will be keeping in touch to hear more about their progress and how the fund has benefited them.”
The Vernon’s Jubilee Fund has donated over £30,000 of funding to 44 local charity and community groups since 2012. The Society will also be selling a calendar featuring stunning photographs of the local area through their branches to raise money for the Jubilee Fund.
