Local mortgage lender Vernon Building Society is hosting a big band concert to benefit Stockport Foodbank and the Furniture Station, both in Hazel Grove.
The Big Band and Swing Night will feature the championship standard Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band and Wilmslow’s ‘King of Swing’ Alan Burton (left) performing a variety of swing and big band favourites.
The concert will be held on Friday 3rd October from 7:30pm at Hazel Grove Baptist Church, Station Road, Hazel Grove. The venue has recently undergone refurbishment and now boasts a fantastic staging area for musical performances.
Joanne Watson, Fundraiser at the Furniture Station said:
“2014 marks our 20th anniversary and we’re really happy that the Vernon has chosen to raise funds in aid of the work we do. I have no doubt that this will be an exceptional evening as it has been in the past. Supporting the event will help us continue our work to ensure families and individuals are able to establish a more stable, independent lifestyle and through the provision of household essentials are able to maintain their tenancies.”
Tickets for this event are available in advance from Hazel Grove Baptist Church or any of the Vernon’s seven local branches for just £5 all of which will go to Stockport Foodbank and the Furniture Station.
