Stockport’s Vernon Building Society has selected the 20 local charity and community groups who will receive an award from their £10,000 Jubilee Fund to benefit local causes.
The public vote opens today! From today readers of the Stockport Express will be able to vote for their favourite group and, the more votes a group receives, the higher their share of the £10,000 funding will be! Readers can start collecting tokens from the Express today until Sept 4th. There is a 4-page pull-out in the paper today – and the first token.
This year the Jubilee Fund received over 100 applications, all of which
were reviewed and assessed by the Society’s panel who selected 20
finalists to receive funding.
Every token collected from the Stockport Express over the next three
weeks means cash for your favourite community group or charity. In
the middle of today’s paper, there is a four-page pull-out detailing the
20 groups and what they want the money for.
Between them they will share a cash prize of £10,000, put up for the
second year running by the Vernon Building Society.
The size of each group’s cheque depends on the number of tokens collected for them by Stockport Express readers. There will be a token in next week and also on August 28 and September 4.
Keep your tokens safe and when you have collected more over the next month, send them to the group of your choice or to a Vernon Building Society branch.
The bigger the share of the tokens each group has at the end of the campaign, the bigger its share of the £10,000. That means EVERY token counts – so start collecting today to help out your favourite cause.
