Stockport’s building society, Vernon, has announced the 14 finalists shortlisted in this year’s Community Awards.
The not-for-profit and community groups in Stockport will share Vernon’s £10,000 awards pot, based on the number of votes they receive in the public vote.
A total of 66 groups applied for a share of this year’s Community Awards, and Vernon’s judging panel carefully considered each before deciding on the shortlist.
This year’s finalists in the Vernon’s Community Awards are:

- Seashell Trust

- Stockport Pride
- The Cherry Tree Project
- Together Trust
- Walthew House
Marketing and brand manager at Vernon, Alexander Deakin, said:

Voting to decide allocation of funds from the awards runs from 2nd September until 1st October via the Vernon website.
Vernon Building Society is a local, independent building society, based in Stockport and founded in 1924, with six branches across the borough.
