Stockport’s Vernon Building Society has been shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘Regional Lending Provider of the Year’ Award by independent financial comparison site, Moneyfacts. The news follows the society’s 2014-15 annual general meeting, which highlighted a 5% growth in total assets over the year, paired with no repossessions and a 94% customer survey satisfaction result.
Mike Hanson, Chief Executive of Vernon Building Society (LEFT) said:
“Mutuality underpins our culture, and that means looking after relationships, caring for customers and our people, and delivering good products honestly sold”.
The Society recently increased its interview capacity to help deal with the demand for its products.
“In an industry where automation and distance is quickly becoming the norm, we believe a more personal approach is often required to properly understand and deal with customers’ needs.” said Ian Keeling, the Society’s Head of Sales & Marketing.
“The Society differentiates itself from large mainstream lenders by being responsive to these needs, for example by providing mortgage advisers in all of our branches and innovative products such as our widely praised Family Assist mortgage.”
