Bramhall based firm Velo-Tech has become the official technical support partner for the annual Seashell Trust Sportive cycling event.
Established by Martin Girdwood in 2013, Velo-Tech Cheshire is a familiar name on the cycling circuit, supporting sportives and corporate cycling events nationally and across Europe.
Now in its fourth year, the Seashell Trust Sportive attracts riders from across the country as it is renowned for being one of the most scenic sportives, taking in the spectacular countryside of Cheshire, the Peak District and Staffordshire.
Organised entirely by a team of volunteers, every penny from the event which this year is on Sunday, September 16 2018, goes to funding the Cheadle Hulme charity’s work with profoundly and multiply disabled children and young people who additionally have little or no verbal communication.
Martin Girdwood said:
“Having seen the work of Seashell Trust first-hand I have been taken by the dedication of their staff.
“I especially like the fact that cycling is an integral part of the 24-hour curriculum. The charity has a large number of specially make tricycles and quad cycles to enable every child, no matter what their disability, to enjoy cycling around its large campus.”
Seashell Trust’s head of fundraising Dominic Tinner, himself a keen cyclist, said:
“We are delighted to have Velo-Tech Cheshire on board. Martin knows the route well and his experience of sportive makes them the ideal partner.”
