Only 12% of the top British websites are complying with the EU Cookie Directive with an on-screen pop-up banner or tab infroming users about use of ‘cookies’ on the website.
But while this figure may be low, the report also found that NONE of the top sites in France of Germany had taken any steps toward compliance.
Looking at consumer awareness of the Cookie Law, the report found that 4 out of 5 UK consumers (81%) are aware if internet browser cookies and 63% are aware of the EU Cookie directive.
