Testing of the car for this years Touring Car season will commence in February and we hope to bring you updates and video of the testing.
Exciting times are ahead for the Hughes / Speedworks partnership as they recently welcomed experienced racer, and former Renault Clio Cup Champion, Dave Newsham to the Stockport based squad. Tony, now stepping into the role of Team Sponsor commented; “Hughes Safety Showers are delighted to have Dave on board, I believe he [Dave] is one of the best drivers in the BTCC. With the right chances and a little bit of luck I think he stands as good a chance as any of winning the Independents title”. Hughes added; “Not only that, but he’s very popular with the fans” – Dave recently won the btcc.net forum’s ‘Driver of the year’ trophy
“I’m looking forward to being involved as Team Sponsor of the Speedworks team in 2013 with Hughes Safety Showers. It’s great to have Dave on board, although I must confess to him, it was his Championship winning Clio that I had my rather dramatic accident in at Thruxton whilst Testing in 2011” Tony added sheepishly, “ultimately writing the shell off. Ooops!”
