Financial services group, Together, has worked with Home Instead to spread festive cheer in and around the Stockport area.
Together hosted a complimentary Christmas lunch for over 140 pensioners at its Cheadle headquarters.
The festive treat has become an annual event, with the company’s staff restaurant transformed into a stylish wonderland where local pensioners, who may not have friends or family nearby to celebrate with, can enjoy a traditional three-course Christmas lunch.
Guests were also treated to a Vera Lynn-style singer and carols from Together’s award-winning corporate choir, and free coaches and taxis were arranged to ensure those in isolated areas, or without transport, didn’t miss out.
Together worked with local care services provider Home Instead in Stockport in order to reach those in need.
Home Instead’s Clare Cliff commented: “We were really pleased to hear about Together’s pensioners’ lunch as many elderly people can feel particularly lonely during the holidays and this was a wonderful treat for them and a chance to meet others from the local area. We’ve had great feedback from those we referred, who all really enjoyed it.”
Kevin Fisher, HR director at Together, said: “Our pensioners’ lunch has become really popular with the local community and with our colleagues who love to get involved on the day. Our board members and heads of departments put on their Santa hats and helped serving, led by our special ‘head waiters’ Enrico and Marco, and the atmosphere was really quite magical. It was great to see the guests having such a good time and we’re delighted we were able to share some holiday cheer.”
Together supports a variety of community events with its ‘Let’s get caring’ initiative, working with charities and community groups. Find out more at https://togethermoney.com/about-us/corporate-social-responsibility/
