The annual Sport Stockport ‘Sports Awards’ are now open for nominations and, in partnership with Life Leisure, will honour the town’s top sporting personalities and volunteers on Friday, September 23, at Houldsworth Golf Club.
Winners from the event will represent Stockport at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards in November.
With plenty of national athletes in contention the night promises to be a glittering event with many famous sporting personalities from across Greater Manchester.
The awards, of which there are eight categories, will be judged by representatives from Sport Stockport (the Sports Council), Life Leisure and the local media.

John Hargreaves, Sport Stockport chairman, said: “This year’s event promises to be an unbelievable celebration of sport in Stockport.
“We have so many individuals and clubs to be proud of in the borough and look forward to recognising their achievements on the night.
“Their contribution will be invaluable in ensuring everyone in Stockport can contribute to the awards.”
