The Vernon Building Society have chosen 20 local charity and community groups who will receive a share of funding from their £10,000 Jubilee Fund in association with the Stockport Express. Public voting to determine how the funding is shared starts in the Stockport Express next week.
The community and charity groups in the Stockport area chosen to benefit from the fund are:

The Stockport Express will also be publishing tokens until 3rd September 2014 for readers to vote for the group they would most like to support – the more tokens a group receives, the more funding they will get.
Tokens can be submitted to the charity or community group directly or dropped in at any of the Vernon’s seven local branches.
The Vernon’s Chief Executive, Mike Hanson, said:
“Each year the shortlisting process is really difficult as there are so many worthwhile groups in Stockport to help others. We’re pleased with the final 20 groups we have chosen and would urge Stockport Express readers to make their vote count and support a local cause.”
The Jubilee Fund has been supporting charity and community groups in the Stockport area since 2012, with over £30,000 of funding awarded during this time.
