Stockport’s Vernon Building Society raised £215 for Macmillan Cancer Support by holding a coffee morning at their Head Office.
Staff from the Society baked a variety of cakes which were sold to raise money for the charity as part of their annual ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
Clare Pike, (pictred left with Jeanette and Jane) who works at the Society’s Head Office and arranged the event said:
“Macmillan is a cause that is close to my heart and baking is a hobby of mine so combining the two to raise money is something that I try to do each year. I’m really proud of the money we’ve raised for Macmillan and hope that this will go towards helping to improve the lives of people living with cancer.”
The Vernon has also awarded over £10,000 of funding this year from its Jubilee Fund as well as raising over £1,500 for Hazel Grove charities Stockport Foodbank and The Furniture Station.
