Transport for Greater Manchester, TfGM are launching a new Greater Manchester-wide, non-political advocacy group promoting walking and cycling as solutions to the big crises of our era —inactivity, air pollution, climate change and congestion.
TfGM want to build the biggest popular movement in Manchester since the Suffragettes, ensuring that our rapidly growing region is designed around people, not cars. Together, we will campaign to make our streets safer, nicer and cleaner for everyone to walk or bike to school or work.
They are inviting everyone to find out more and take part.
With £160m already committed to walking and cycling —and the potential of a billion or more to come —we will be a strong and coherent grassroots campaign, making sure the money is spent on what people want.
Chris Boardman, Greater Manchester’s walking and cycling commissioner, will be with us to share his vision.
