A panel of Stockport Homes tenants have been shortlisted for a prestigious award thanks to their contribution to the continuous improvement of the homes and communities for residents.
The Stockport Homes Customer Scrutiny Panel will be attending the Customer Scrutiny Inspection Awards ceremony in the ‘Most inspiring Scrutiny Panel (North)’ category. The judges recognised their impressive track record, ability to work independently and in partnerships, and their ability to communicate well with other tenants and their landlord.
Chair of the panel, Ian Parker from Bredbury, has also been shortlisted in the ‘Outstanding Individual Contribution’ category at the awards. The category that Ian has been shortlisted for rewards a “panel member, inspector or mystery shopper who has demonstrated a high level of skill and knowledge.”
He said: “I am delighted to have been short-listed for this award and recognise that I could not have achieved this without the commitment and hard work of my colleagues on the Customer Scrutiny Panel, the staff at Stockport Homes and Jayne Boote from Engage Associates for their support.”
The Scrutiny Panel has enjoyed a number of successes in recent months including a thorough review into caretaking services, visiting many properties and people across Stockport to make their findings. The panel have also provided valuable feedback to help Stockport Homes improve its communication with tenants.
The awards will take place on Thursday 30th October at Gorton Monastery, Manchester.
Stockport Homes’ Chief Executive, Helen McHale said: “Customer Scrutiny wouldn’t be the powerful tool that it is at Stockport Homes without Ian and the Customer Scrutiny Panel. They have become a really challenging force for good in our organisation and help us ensure our services continually improve.”
