Stockport’s Central Library will be temporarily closed for a few days while essential repair work is undertaken.
The library will be closed from 4.00pm on Saturday 8th June and will re-open at 9.00am on Thursday 13th June.
This closure is part of a project to repair and renovate the over roof and glazed dome in the library and will require the erection of scaffolding.
Councillor Mark Weldon, Deputy Leader of Stockport Council and Executive Member for Corporate, Customer and Community Services, said:
“I would like to apologise to library users for any inconvenience this closure, due to essential maintenance work, may cause and thank them in advance for their patience. The Council is committed to providing high quality libraries across the borough”.
