Greater Manchester’s Chamber of Commerce has launched a new free network for the city-region’s business community to engage and collaborate on sustainability.
The Business Green Scene aims to bring together businesses looking to become more environmentally friendly, covering all aspects of sustainability and going beyond just carbon emissions. Regular events and a mobile communications app also will share latest updates from Greater Manchester businesses.
Joining The Business Green Scene network will also allow Greater Manchester SMEs to access free “Bee More Green” energy health checks by partner Enexus Energy, alongside 1-on-1 business consultations, and free environmental sustainability training for employees. The scheme aims to be employee-led, and open to those at any level, from apprentice to director, and from Greater Manchester-based organisations of all sizes and industries, including sole traders and the third sector.
Existing GMCC members will also be able to share their progress on sustainability efforts with a wider network of businesses from across Greater Manchester.
It is hoped the network will provide a voice for those championing sustainable business practices across the region and provide an opportunity to feedback key issues that are affecting our businesses to central government via the Chamber of Commerce’s wider remit.
Further information about joining the business network can be found on the GMCC website.
