Fortnightly collection of green bins will resume for Stockport residents from 11th May.
Residents should put their green bin out for collection on the same day that their black bins are usually collected, no later than 7am.
Collections had been paused during the coronavirus lockdown to facilitate social distancing and protect operatives on wagons, and in recycling centres, except for a single collection of garden waste only.
Stockport residents can also resume using their green bins for food waste, as well as compostable garden waste.
Cllr Sheila Bailey, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Stockport, said:
I am really pleased that we can restart Green Bin collection from Monday on a fortnightly basis and I know our residents will welcome the fact that we are collecting garden waste.
“Our workforce have done an incredible job under really difficult circumstances and I would like to thank them for their dedication and commitment, and also to residents for their understanding during these challenging times.”
